Career Path Advice Needed

Hello all! I am very interested in becoming an ATC. On the faa website, it indicates there are two ways a prospect can crack into the biz. Path one: complete a 2 year faa accredited college program or Path two: complete what appears to be an apprenticeship program. I don't know anyone in the business that I could ask, so I was hoping the posters here could give some friendly advice on how to get started. Thanks in advance!
