NATCA's communicating for safety conference, held in Orlando, Florida, March 2010 is an excellent example of the way air traffic controllers contribute to promoting safety. It is a a good demonstration that even when an air traffic control association is a union, safety still represents its core business.
Video content from this conference is available on the NATCA site at: http://www.natca.org/cfs10/
The people responsible for making these videos and covering the two day conference live on the Internet are NATCA members, among them Scott Mann and Bill Holtzman, NATCA's PLC and TOC representatives, respectively.
A feature of CFS is the presentation of the Archie League Awards. Videos are also available. However, more details, including transcript and audio may be found here: http://www.natca.org/mediacenter/ArchieLeague_SixthAnnual.msp

NATCA and it's safety committee, which operates under the office of NATCA Director Safety and Technology, should be extremely proud of having such a product as CFS. IFATCA EVP-Finance Dale Wright's day job is NATCA Director Safety and Technology. I am glad he is able to make the time to take good care of our books as well.
I am hoping that content from this conference as well as the expertise of our NATCA friends becomes more easily available to controllers in this region as well as to IFATCA generally.
Hope you enjoy this and learn from it as much as I did.
