About Benjamin

Benjamin was born and raised in the southwest of Germany. He started the training as an Air Traffic Controller in Zürich, Switzerland in 2008 and graduated with an Advanced Federal Diploma of Higher Education in 2011. He works both in the Upper and Lower airspace in the Area Control Center in Zürich. Additionally, he holds an OJTI License, gathered experience in the Zürich Control Tower as Clearence Delivery and worked as a selection assessor for candidates who apply to the air traffic controller training.

In 2015 he started as international representative in the air traffic controller’s association Aerocontrol Switzerland where he became Vice President in 2017.

In 2019 he was the Spokesperson of the Project “the-Merge” which successfully merged the four air traffic controllers’ associations in Switzerland into HelvetiCA-Swiss Controllers association. Benjamin was HelvetiCAs first president and as a Central Board member contributed to the success of the association as lead negotiator for the Collective Labour Agreement which came into effect in January 2024. In October 2025, Benjamin was elected as EVP Europe for IFATCA. A role he assumed at the annual conference in April 2026.
